Unbelievable he doesn't have his own icon.

Rewatching

` Whenever we got it we would not kick it out, Billy would not kick it out, we would get it down give it to Trevor, give it to Alan or Paul Allen , that was the habit we had, we could not kick it into row Z`

No double decker bus ag ag Laceys single decker with heads popping through the skylights..............

It is a shame Alvin did not go onto coaching or management he speaks good sense and knows his football.

The Everton semi finals were pukka. Considering Everton players were rejoicing being drawn to West Ham beforehand.

Stretch had it with a few.
Always remember for leading from the front at wall away in 89.. Likes of Brady didn't fancy it... Same with the Wimbledon twats.. Stretch was havin none of it.
Same for Dicks.. Bonds.. All cut from same cloth.. What we need right now from Rice..

the newcastle game was great, but one of my favourite games was the lg cup game against wimbledon when they thought they'd take the piss physically and come unstuck. julian trying to cripple dennis wise, and then alvin having it with eric young and his brown headband :.)

A magnificent player and a top bloke and as hock said always refers to West Ham as us, we.
Had a few pints with him in The Ship Gidea Park when I lived that way.
They don't make em like they used to.

21 years service for the club. If he had joined the Army he would have gone up ranks and be the rank of Major or higher.

Would love his opinion on the circus and his ideas , solutions to get West Ham UNITED again.

Absolute magnificent player and would be a brilliant foil for Morro in a WHU fantasy back 4... absolute club legend.

Great (underrated) player, an absolute gent, and always refers to West Ham as 'us' or 'we'.

Re: Alvin Martin
Martin & Gale only had one good season together.

Good individual defenders but for most of their partnership we struggled and conceded lots of goals.

Re: Alvin Martin
Alongside TG, in their prime before both suffered long term injuries they were never allowed to properly recover from, they must've been the most composed centre back pairing in the country.

Both cool as cucumbers, intelligent defenders and excellent on the deck.

A shame we never had any proper back up for either those two or Ray Stewart.
